NLP Rewind Technique – Get A Grip On Your Life Now!

The worst thing in life is having a phobia or fear for something, which absolutely paralyzes you so much so, that you live a debilitated life. Luckily there is help on the horizon in the name of NLP rewind technique.

It’s not a new technique to deal with phobias, it’s such that many people are now using this and word gets around of it’s success stories. It is known as Neuro-Linguistic- Programming. In layman’s terms it is how we program our minds to believe certain things whether it was something that happened to us in the past or near past, we love to replay and replay it until we sit with a phobia which affects our life and those around us.

An interesting case surfaced the other day about a woman who was petrified to drive a car.

Janet, who is 40 years old, married with two children has never sat behind a wheel of a car because when she was a young girl she tragically lost her brother in a car accident. She was really afraid to drive because she convinced herself that she would also die if she drove a car. She would reply on many people to shuttle her back and forth in her life, but would never dare driving herself.

She finally realized that she had to be mobile and and went to see a therapist who was well rehearsed with the rewind technique. I will endeavor to share her story with you summarized of course:

First she would imagine herself in a cinema with a large screen. She is comfortable, calm and feeling really relaxed. She would then start her movie with various actors playing various parts. Her movie would be in black and white as to give it an old look. She would imagine exactly where the accident happened and recall all her memories of the event in graphic detail.

Janet was asked to imagine herself in a cinema or big room where she was able to watch a movie playing on a big screen. She was then asked to leave her seat and stand somewhere where she could observe herself watching her movie. The movie would be about her fear or phobia. She was also asked to imagine her movie be in black and white to give it a dated look. She was then told to let her imagination play along and create the scene where she became horrified or scared. While she was watching her movie, she was also watching herself and noting her reactions.

She was then gradually allowed to change the color of her movie into technicolor. This immediately brightened up the mood of the movie. She was then urged to watch her movie until the end in a position where she was not frightened because she was observing from the side lines, while rewinding and fast forwarding her movie and putting some positive scenes like music and nice objects around the actors. She started to imagine that she was driving in her little car, safe and sound while soothing music played on the radio.

She was in control and nothing bad happened in her new movie. She repeated the rewinding a few times and has successfully taken her drivers test and is now mobile for the first time in her life, by applying the nlp rewind technique and changing her future for the better.
