For a dark period of my life, I suffered from a condition known as Agoraphobia. This is a fear that stems from extreme anxiety. I had grown so self-conscious that after suffering some personal hardships in the year past, I became hesitant to face the world each day and I did everything I could to avoid going out. Fortunately for me, an online search introduced me to this program for phobias before my irrational fears could further escalate. Feeling curious and with nothing to lose, I decided to give it a go.

After a short introduction by the creator of the program, Alan B. Densky, CH, this program begins with a session called “Knowledge is Power.” It is one of six unique sessions. This first session explains how hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques can eliminate phobias by changing the way your unconscious mind processes phobia-triggering images, sounds, and situations. It also gives important advice for making this program more effective, while also explaining how small changes in your daily life affect your ability to control your phobia.

I was afraid that this program would be too complicated, but each session after the first one was easy to follow. I felt calm and relaxed after the second session, which involved being hypnotized for the first time. It felt so easy, it was virtually automatic, or in other words, it was an unconscious process.

I have learned that there are many different techniques used to help people handle all kinds of problems. One of the most interesting to use has been an NLP technique offered in this program called a Visual Kinesthetic Disassociation. Phobias are triggered by mental images. The V/K reprograms your unconscious mind by using visual imagery to disconnect the panic type feelings caused by a phobia, from the images that trigger them. The V/K causes you to actually relax and let go of your phobias. The session with the V/K Disassociation really left an impact on me.

This program also uses Ericksonian hypnotherapy techniques. In contrast to traditional hypnosis, which relies on a hypnotist making direct suggestions, these techniques, like NLP, skirt around one’s natural compulsion to do the opposite of what one is told to do. New ideas and suggestions are buried in stories, called metaphors, so you are really consciously unaware of the post-hypnotic suggestions so they are able to slip into the unconscious mind. After a week or so I started to notice that I was feeling more positive and confident than I had felt in the past. This program helped me develop the new perspective on life that I sorely needed.

In another session, the NLP Flash helps “flip” your thoughts so stressful situations that normally make you panic will no longer scare you. I feel like this program tapped into my mind to bring out resiliency I didn’t know I had. It not only helped me find confidence, but also taught me how to build it by imagining positive, soothing things.

Systematic Desensitization is another technique implemented by this program. It helps you imagine situations that trigger your phobia, but instead of feeling fear, you will feel peace. I think the other sessions help prepare you for this one by calming you down and dissociating you from your fears. That way, the last session will help you anticipate a phobia-triggering situation and still remain calm. Although the process is supposed to take time, NLP Anchoring techniques help speed its progress by reinforcing the experience.

I found this program to be filled with unexpected benefits. Although my biggest fear was having to leave the safety of my home, I also had a constant fear of something bad happening and I was afraid to interact with other people, but this program helped me with all of these feelings. The techniques and wording of the program are so general that they will work for any phobia. I believe that anyone can learn from this program and use it to build self-confidence against fears.

Since this program is an audio recording, it is portable and easy to use. This was important for me because by the time I found this program, I was hardly leaving the house anymore. This program has changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. I didn’t think I had it in me to overcome my extreme anxiety, but this program has definitely taught me otherwise.

I am proud of myself for overcoming my fears and grateful that I had this resource to use. I recommend this program to anyone suffering from the same fears and painful feelings that I had. No one should have to live in fear and with all the options for help available; no one has to live with a phobia.
